Energy actions are changes in residents’ behaviors that result in energy savings. Examples include:
• Turn off lights and electronics when not in use
• Use fans instead of AC in the summer
• Put electronics on a smart strip to manage plug loads
• Enable power savings mode for computers
• Turn down or program the set points in a programmable thermostat
• Wash laundry in cold water
• Take shorter showers
• Close the curtains at night
• Turn the water heater set point down
• Participate in other Focus programs such as Whole Home Retrofits, prescriptive rebates, etc.
