Yes, to qualify for incentives most equipment must be installed by a professional contractor or registered Focus on Energy Trade Ally. with appropriate insurance, permits and licenses. A valid Wisconsin State professional contractor’s license or credential is required.
Heating and Cooling installations (eg. Furnaces, heat pumps, boilers etc.) can be installed by any contractor with a valid Wisconsin state processional contractor’s license or credential and appropriate insurance, permits and licenses.
Insulation and Air Sealing improvements must be completed by a registered Focus on Energy Trade Ally. You can find a list of Trade Allies in your area using our Find a Trade Ally tool.
Smart thermostats purchased at a retail location can be self-installed.
