Coefficient of Performance (COP)

COP is a measure of the heating efficiency of geothermal heat pumps. COP is measured at specific conditions, but provides a good measure of the overall efficiency of the heat pump during the heating season. A higher COP indicates a more efficient heat pump, but savings in heating mode also depend on proper equipment sizing and the type of auxiliary heat used.
